2018 Non-Draft Race Schedule

Listed below are the official team races.  Athletes may choose to participate in other events that are distance appropriate.  These are OPTIONAL races.  Choose what fits your family's schedule.  Each race has a registration fee, typically athletes register a few weeks before the race.

 

 

Deer Creel State Park- June 9 and 10th, South of Columbus

This event is held over two days.  Saturday is the Youth (10 and under) and middle school (11-15)  races.  The high school race is the "mini" distance 200/6/2 for first time Adults, Middle School or High Schoolers.  More experienced athletes may choose to do the sprint distance. Mojo Sprint Triathlon Adults/High School High State Championship Saturday, June 17, West Chester Ohio

Despite having "championship" in the title, the event is geared to High School Triathletes of all ability levels.  It's a great way for athletes to kick of the summer. This is an optional event for any high school athlete.  Let Coach Kim know  if you are interested in attending as training needs to begin sooner than later.

 

Maumee Bay Triathlon- June 16th and 17th Maumee Bay State Park, Toledo area.  

This event is held over two days.  Saturday is the Youth (10 and under) and middle school (11-15)  races.  The high school race is the "mini" distance 200/6/2 for first timers.  More experienced athletes may choose to do the sprint distance. The lake is waist deep for all swims.

 

Caesar Creek- July 7th and 8th, Caesar Creek State park

This event is held over two days.  Saturday is the Youth (10 and under) and middle school (11-15)  races.  The high school race is the "mini" distance 200/6/2 for first timers.  More experienced athletes may choose to do the sprint distance. The lake is waist deep for all swims.

 

Ross Heart Hospital at Ohio State- Sunday, July 22nd

This event is a "point to point" triathlon.  This means that there are two transition areas.  Athletes will start at Antrim Lake (not waist deep) and finish outside of the Shoe on the OSU campus.  This event is for middle and high school athletes only.  A Relay option is available.

 

Youth and Junior Nationals- Saturday and Sunday, August 4th and 5th

This is event is a large triathlon, there will be athletes from around the country participating.  It is a very exciting event! Athletes of all abilities will be participating. Athletes between the ages of 7 and 15 (as of 12/31/18) are welcome to attend.  The water is not waist deep, so athletes should be swimming.  Because of the size of the event, it is best that only confident athletes attend, all athletes are encouraged to participate.  This event typically sells out by early July. An overnight in Cincinnati is recommended.

 

Age Group Nationals, August 11th and 12th, Cleveland

There is no qualification for the Sprint distance race, this is appropriate for strong swimmers/runners who have been training year round Race age 16 and older.
